Meet Dr. Tashina Reeder
As Founder and CEO of Soul Care Services, LLC, Dr. Tashina Reeder, LSW, established this practice based on the core belief that complete healing takes place through the interconnection of the mind, body, and spirit. Through her own life experiences of trauma and years of working in addictions in community behavioral health, Dr. Reeder grew concerned with the lack of “trauma-informed” practices among professionals despite training and available resources. As a result, Dr. Reeder opened a private practice where trauma-informed specialty services could be offered.
Dr. Reeder holds a Doctorate in Couple and Family Therapy and a Masters in Social Work. She is a licensed social worker who holds certifications in Prolonged Exposure (PE) Therapy and in the facilitation of Trauma Recovery Empowerment Model groups for women and young girls alike. Dr. Reeder has the unique ability to address challenging life events achieving breakthroughs where no one else could. With her special interest in trauma, spirituality and creative therapies, Dr. Reeder uses an integrative approach to therapy to encourage, empower, teach, and mend relationships to bring about healing.
With her bright personality and optimism,
Dr. Reeder tends to inspire others from various cultures and diverse backgrounds, which has afforded her many opportunities to share her gift of knowledge. She has traveled to Africa as a missionary and guest presenter for a youth and women’s conference in Cotonou, Benin and Lagos, Nigeria in 2007. Dr. Reeder has been the guest lecturer at Widener University’s School of Social Work every year since 2013, teaching on the topic of Spirituality and Addictions, and has been a presenter at the Alliance’s 12th Annual Conference for Direct Service Professionals. Dr. Reeder also teaches trauma workshops in various behavioral health organizations throughout the City of Philadelphia.
